The Story of Margaret Keane.

Raised in the Midwest, Keane grew up surrounded by stories and storytellers, including an aunt who published her own books and sparked an early love for writing. That influence, paired with a lifelong habit of reading and daydreaming, shaped her passion for creating emotionally rich, character-driven stories.

Rooted in the Midwest, she’s drawn to the beauty of small towns, golden sunsets stretching across open fields, and the simple things in life. Growing up, Keane rarely saw lesbian stories reflected in books or media, especially ones set in places that felt familiar. Her work is driven by a desire to bring sapphic romance to the Midwest, to tell stories where queer women find love, belonging, and happy endings in the heartland, not just on the coasts.

When she’s not writing, Keane enjoys reading, gaming, spending time with her wife and their two cats, Piper and Leo, and getting lost in the small, cozy moments that often inspire her next story.
